Summer Projects
This summer Proistemi was able to put smiles on children’s faces thanks to the generous donations from Frost Bank and St. Monica’s School. The Missionaries of Charity in South Dallas hold a summer camp for the children in their neighborhood every year. This year an astounding 250 children ages 5-14 registered for the summer camp run by the sisters and volunteers. Frost Bank’s Community Development office donated 250 brand-new backpacks for all of the children! The sisters were overjoyed to be able to provide their students with such a useful gift. The students tell us that they are excited to also use their new backpacks for the new school year.
But, Proistemi was able to take it a step further by filling up the backpacks with school supplies donated by St. Monica’s School end-of-the-year school supply drive. The drive gives students and teachers the opportunity to donate their unused or gently used school supplies.
All in all, with the generosity of Frost Bank and St. Monica’s School, Proistemi was able to act as a liaison and connect resources to need.
We are striving to provide these types of gifts annually or biannually to the children of south Dallas. There is no such a thing as too many smiles!
